Wonderful Run and the best part is the Put In. A Coal slide into the waters. Awesome! We went after a big rain so the water level was almost to the tops of the banks. Current moved swiftly and made paddling a breeze for the most part. There are a few class 2 rapids that are maybe 3's when we went down them, but the main drop is at the dam. After the dam, there are just a few slides and THAT"S ABOUT IT! You paddle the rest of the way out so if you decide to run this run you might wanna be prepared to do some paddling. All in all it was one of the most fun runs because of the continuous action for at the first 3/5 of the run. The hard part is the Take out though. Be prepared to struggle and just hope you don't go when the ground is wet. It is trecherous.

I suggest this run be ran AFTER A BIG RAIN of some kind. The water was very shallow but the creek is narrow here and there is some good scenery. There are a few houses that you can see plus is a random bridge and a football field to your left. Don't know exactly what it is but maybe a school of some kind. One nice rapid is the one with the pictures located in our PHOTO GALLERY. A decent run. Shouldn't take you more than a couple of hours with good amounts of water.

Very Nice run. The water flowed pretty well so there were very few flat areas. Scenery is great with you passing by a lot of beautiful homes that butt up right next to the bank. Run only took about 3 1/2  hours. Good run but has a few rapids that can be tricky for the beginner.

Nice run with a few good rapids. I suggest you use this run after there hasbeen a good rain. Nice scenery especially with the big rock formations abouthalf way down. This part of the Cahaba is used quite often by locals andtravelers alike. You are likely to run into Tubers as well as swimmers, due tothe rope swing and there is even a make-shift ladder system on a rock where wemet some kids diving. There isn't much wildlife other than a few fish. The river current was slim to none for the most part but I'm sure it would pick upafter a heavy rain. All in all a good run with good scenery.
